About me

I love my job with a passion and can't imagine doing anything else. It doesn't feel like "work" to me. I have over 15 years of experience working in several different therapeutic settings, including academic, residential, and clinical. I work with clients of all ages, providing a very personalized approach for each client. I recognize that each individual needs to work at his/her own pace, and that a technique that works with one individual doesn't work for everyone. My only goal is to help you accomplish your goals. Together, we can work towards positive change.

In order for this to happen, however, you need to be comfortable with and trust me. I think people are less likely to enjoy therapy and make progress if there isn't a relationship with such comfort and trust. I consistently tell new clients that they are interviewing me, so to speak. If we aren't a good match, I'm happy to help you find someone who is a better fit. I have a diverse background, and see clients of all ages with issues including, but not limited to:

* Mood disturbances
* Addiction and eating disorders
* Self esteem
* Self injuries behavior
* LGBT
* Relationships
* Family conflict
* Divorce and blended family issues
* Anger management
* Loss and grief
* Suicidal ideation, for the individual and his/her family

Taking the first step by reaching out for support is acknowledgment that we can't handle everything ourselves. It is ok to make yourself a priority and address such issues. It is also courageous and for many, overwhelming. I am here to get to know you at your pace and assist with the transition of beginning, maintaining, and completing counseling. I look forward to working together!

I felt like my world was falling apart and spinning out of control. I thought I could handle everything on my own..until I realized I needed to talk with someone. I'm so glad that someone was Samantha. She's helped me by listening without judgment, and by giving helpful advice. I'm so thankful I reached out.
