About me

I am a licensed professional counselor with a specialization in play therapy and marriage and family therapy. In my years of practice I have worked with individuals with all types of backgrounds and with various concerns. Some of my work experiences include working with individuals with anxiety, depression, domestic abuse, career related concerns, parenting issues, and relationship challenges.

I use a client centered and multicultural approach when providing therapy. Which means, I always want to meet the client "where they are" and be sensitive to each client's cultural identities while also acknowledging how those impact their experience. I seek to build a relationship with a client that will help promote-self esteem and empower them to use their strengths and realize their potential. I do my best in creating a space where my client feels equal, empowered and supported. There is great benefit in the therapeutic relationship and I want for my clients to experience that when receiving therapy. I always treat my clients with respect, empathy, non-judgement and compassion. I believe in collaboration and working together in creating attainable goals and solutions. I pull evidence based techniques from different modalities to tailor a treatment approach that best fits your personal goals. I primarily draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy.

I understand seeking therapy and sharing personal thoughts, concerns and problems can be very daunting. I wish to change that for you and help you feel comfortable enough to truly open up to where you feel like your most authentic self. I look forward to working with you and I sincerely hope that you gain immensely from our sessions together.
