Hello,
My name is Sandy Rogers and I am a LICSW( Licensed Independent Social Worker) in West Virginia. I have been a social worker/therapist in therapeutic settings for the past 29 years .My experience includes but is not limited to Medical Social Worker in both the hospital and nursing home settings, Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital, Crisis Residential Unit, Community Mental Health Centers, and Outpatient Medication Assisted Drug Treatment Program. I have provided individual and group counseling in these settings.
I received my BSW and my MSW from West Virginia University. I also have national certifications in social work: ACSW, DCSW.
I use a variety of treatment approaches that includes but is not limited to Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Therapy. I work with each individual to determine what is the best approach for their situation. My approach is Client-Centered where each individual is the "Expert" on their lives and they will determine the direction and depth of the therapy. I will work with each individual on developing a treatment plan of their goals and objectives of therapy. I provide a safe space and a non-judgemental approach in all of our sessions.
Outside my work as therapist, I enjoy spending time with my husband and adult children, and my furbabies(1 dog and 2 cats). I am a big animal rescue advocate. My past volunteer work included being a Boy Scout Leader and a Girl Scout Leader, Most recently and before pandemic times, I was active volunteer in my local church and other community events.
