Hello! I am so glad you are here. My name is Sara Barber and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working professionally in mental health for the last 3 years. During that time I have worked with individuals of all ages, from children to adults experiencing everything from anxiety and depression to family dysfunction, developing coping skills and self-care plans, big life transition and adjustments, low self-esteem and confidence, and LGBTQ+ issues.
My goal as a therapist is to meet you where you are. Attending therapy for the first time or the millionth time is never easy, I strive to make our time together positive and productive even when discussing and exploring difficult topics. I believe that therapy should be a space where you can feel safe to explore and discuss whatever it is that is creating difficulty in your life as well as a space to celebrate your accomplishments and achievements.
We live in a society where seeking therapeutic help is not talked about or encouraged. You have made it to this step and I am proud of you.

Sara is awesome! She’s always there when I need her
Sara is present, pleasant, takes notes, and has good listening skills.
My experience with Sara has been utterly fantastic. She is honest, caring and really allows me to open up. I truly look forward to my sessions every single week. She has equipped me with so many techniques that have changed my life (!). She has been on a journey with me, and I can’t recommend her enough. Thank you Sara
Amazing and great listener
Sara is absolutely amazing. She gives excellent advice that is not only down to earth but also very rational. She's helped me feel more comfortable with accepting the difficulties of a long term relationship ending. Like myself, she's a millennial, which definitely goes a long way in making me feel safe around someone who understands/shares what being a millennial is like, especially in our always online internet age.
I look forward to my sessions with Sara. I knew from my first session that she would be a great help to my mental health. She is very laid back, easy to talk to and makes wonderful suggestions that have helped me tremendously.
Speaking with Sara is like talking with a friend. We were very well matched. She is kind, insightful, and has helped me great. I truly enjoy our sessions.
Sara it's an amazing professional. I feel really confident in sharing my toughts, my worries and anxious. Is being wonderful talking to someone that is really present, trully listening and and that guides you in how to achieve your therapy goals.
Sara is an extremely helpful therapist who helped me focus on my goals related to mental health and gave me such great insight into ways emotions can be dealt with. She helped me understand my feelings in a different way. Especially with family, low self-esteem, trauma, and LGBTQ+ related problems. It’s worth it with her!
INCREDIBLY helpful, friendly, personable. She asked insightful questions, listened intently, and drew conclusions that greatly aided my mental health. Met my needs as LGBT+ and queer. Finally I had a positive experience with a therapist! I am looking forward to working with her again.
