About me

Hello there!

My name is Sara, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with over ten years of experience working as a psychotherapist in a variety of fields and settings. The majority of my work has centered around mood disorders, depression/anxiety, trauma processing, grief and loss, separation/adjustment, and identity and self-esteem development. I have also helped many people who have endured chronic psychological and physical abuse, either in childhood or romantic relationships.

My counseling style is warm and genuine, with sincere compassion for what you are going through and struggling with. I incorporate a variety of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well elements from the work of Carl Rogers and Carl Jung, to create a tailored treatment plan that is specific to your needs and symptoms. It is my ultimate goal to provide you a lens through which to see yourself more clearly and accurately. Through this process we will work together to identify and build upon your strengths, while also targeting the limiting and unfair self-beliefs that undermine well-being.

It takes a great deal of personal strength to make the first step to seek out counseling. I'd be honored to go on this journey with you.

Looking forward to working with you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Sara Giles. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Sara is extremely warm and nurturing, but she can also connect problems to help you find the root of them. Therapy that give you hope that things will change, but if they don't it's completely fine... You survived them once, and you will survive them again :) Thank you

She is extremely understanding and shares so much positivity. She responded to my sudden messaging in her off hours when she realized I really need guidance on6 that moment. She puts a lot of thought and direct you to proper resources in her response and never rushes. She will let you take your time and respond to you thoughtfully. Nothing I said was considered offensive rather encouraged to be myself and made me feel safe. I will definitely recommend her.

Very caring, very compassionate, very understanding. Give a lot of thought in her thorough response. Very willing to help, offers choices of communications and willing to helps out even out of her regular counseling hours if the situation requires it.

Sara is one of the best councillors I have ever had, in my six years of going to therapy. She’s so personable, she understands and doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable or judged. Nothing I disclose is too ‘out there’- and this hugely important to me. I would 100% recommend Sara to everyone out there who needs someone to talk to. She is amazing. I have gotten so much out of my sessions with Sara, and it’s only been a week or so. I can’t wait to see what the next few weeks have in store :)
