About me

Ms Sarah Charney (MSc, MA, BSc, PG Dip)
Psychotherapist
I am an experienced Psychotherapist, and accredited with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I practice various therapeutic modals; including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy and use tools and techniques from Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Stabilisation and Trauma Focused Therapy or can simply provide a safe space for you to talk . Your journey towards healing and self-discovery will happen in a compassionate, self-accepting, and motivating environment. During our time together we can focus on identifying and changing entrenched ways of thinking, which are often learnt in childhood or through negative events that happen later in life. These unhelpful thinking patterns can cause intense emotional disturbance as well as unhelpful behaviours and unhelpful coping strategies.

I worked and trained in a clinical NHS setting alongside a multidisciplinary team with psychologists, counsellors and psychiatrists. I hold two Master’s Degrees, one in Counselling Psychology and one in Human Resource Management (Occupational Psychology) and have experience working with adults in both private, NHS and workplace settings. My extensive background allows me to address a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties, from anxiety and depression to employee motivation and performance. I provide a safe and supportive space where insight, self-care and, most importantly, change and discovery can be achieved. I look forward to meeting you soon.
