About me
As a clinical social worker, I’ve had the honor of helping adults navigate and transform their painful struggles for over 26 years. My philosophy is that you are the expert at navigating your own life, and my role as a therapist is to guide you through the process of dropping below the surface, thinking a little deeper and finding the center of the patterns that result in being stuck. I create a safe space for this work by listening without judgment, and responding with gentle feedback from a place of unconditional positive regard. As you regain trust in your own inner wisdom and strength, we can further work together to devise personal strategies for letting go of patterns and habits that no longer serve you. This will allow you to heal old wounds and make the lasting changes you need to be more productive and focused in your life and relationships.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Scarlett Harris. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
My therapist is gifted as a clinician and as a person of real life experiences as she comes alongside of my fears, insecurities, & doubts. She often "names" the issue that I can't name. Then she helps me to find steps forward to clean up & learn from my messes
Scarlett has totally changed my life. She came to me at a time when I would be needing guidance more than I realized. Each week I leave my sessions with tools to help me through the week many of which will be with me for life. She is such a good listener and provides helpful insights. I will be eternally grateful that she has been a part of my journey.
I’ve had a half-dozen therapists over my lifetime, and I’ve never found one I liked as much as Scarlett.
She has a gentle, calming presence, but not in a cloying or overly sentimental way; her responses are always empathy-first, but she frequently finds ways to help me reframe problems I’ve shared to make them seem surmountable. She’s got a knack for asking questions that demand self-reflection without activating my defenses. She often shares books, shows, and other media that help me understand myself and the world more deeply. Some of the best things I’ve read and seen in the last year were recommendations she’s made.
I have some familial trauma and a lot of anxiety. To my surprise, unlike other therapists I’ve seen, Scarlett’s approach was to discuss but mostly leave alone my trauma (saying that picking too much at the wounds can keep them open), but to “sit with” my anxiety. She’s taught me to listen to it, to treat it like an old friend with things to say - sometimes smart things, sometimes overblown things. It has turned out that the best way for me to minimize my anxiety has not been to fight back against it, to log it and categorize it, to resist it at every turn - but to hear it, to write about it, and to greet it and even welcome its shadowy omnipresence.
In my time with Scarlett, I have stopped biting my nails, cut way down on my negative mantras, and cultivated a healthier relationship with food.
As a queer polyamorous woman, I have struggled to find a therapist who is not just comfortable with my relationship structure (a task in itself) but also is able to help me work through the unique interpersonal challenges polyamory can present. Scarlett’s profile didn’t pitch her as an LGBTQIA+ counselor specifically, but she’s been better in that regard than other therapists I’ve encountered who did pitch themselves that way.
I appreciate that she takes an evidence-based approach to psychology but also is open to exploring the oblique, murky depths of the subconscious and the human experience. As a Jungian, she believes there is much to be learned from dreams - but she helps lead me through interpretation rather than imposing her own.
I am sad that when I leave the state, I’ll be out of her coverage area. I’ll miss her and her insights deeply.
Scarlett has been a crucial support during an extremely stressful time. Her wisdom, intelligence and empathic nature offer the perfect guidance and support.
Scarlett is a wonderful person who I feel confident confiding in. I believe she has my best interests at heart and the knowledge and ability to help me become my best self. I couldn’t have picked a better therapist myself.
Scarlett Harris was absolutely wonderful! She's very kind, relatable and a great listener. This was my first therapy experience ever and she made me feel comfortable enough to talk to her. She was spot on with the issues I'm experiencing and provided me with amazing sources to help me work through them. I would 100% recommend Scarlett to anyone needing someone to talk to.
Scarlett seemed to "get me" very quickly. She has helped me articulate and explore my areas of pain, and has helped me think about ways to move forward. I appreciate her reflective comments and gentle suggestions. I feel very fortunate to have Scarlett as a therapist.
Scarlett has been extremely helpful and always willing to make time for me. She has been kind and understanding and goes above and beyond to make sure I am satisfied with our sessions.
Scarlett is a wonderful social worker and is an absolute joy to work with. She is timely in responding to any thoughts or concerns that I have and absolutely allows me to set priority over the things that we discuss in our sessions. She is respectful of my life view and experiences and takes them into account when working with me, making me feel safe and seen. I HIGHLY recommend Scarlett to anyone who is seeking therapy.
Scarlett is a wonderful therapist! She goes out of her way to make time for me and I always feel more relaxed after our sessions. I look forward to my time with Scarlett every week!
Scarlett is wonderful, the tools that she has given me help me everyday and I always look forward to meeting with her.
