About me
Scott Hedge LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Scott received his Masters degree in social work at Loyola University. Scott has been working in mental health with a large variety of multicultural clients from adolescents to adults of all ages for eight years, these clients ranged from children in the DCFS Ward system to adults in outpatient and inpatient settings. Scott has worked for Lakeshore Hospital, multiple mental health agencies, and the Cook County Health and Hospital System as a Mental Health Therapist and Clinical Leader. Scott has provided diverse therapy and clinical support for individuals with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, substance abuse problems and schizophrenia. Scott has experience in providing services for at risk youth and adults with a history of trauma and the LQBTQ+ community and caters his style to the needs of the individual. Scott utilizes music therapy and has worked in a variety of different modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Crisis Intervention, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy groups while maintaining a supportive warm and understanding environment where a client can feel comfortable in and thrive.
Specific areas of interest and practice include working with adolescents and adults with Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and Trauma. Scott works in and with crisis intervention, relationship problems, conduct disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, and grief therapy. Scott's work with adolescents has covered adjustment disorders, crisis therapy, depression, education based stressors, substance abuse, anxiety management and homelessness. Scott has worked within the LQBTQ Community and for Transgender adults. Scott believes in a collaborative and creative process in therapy and understands that life is complex and guidance that isn't obtainable from a personal place or a loved one can
