About Me

Hi there! Reaching out for help takes courage. I am glad you are here! My name is Sean Blade. I am a clinical mental health counselor licensed in Florida and Maryland. I have a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University. I have spent much of my career, to this point, working with a highly diverse population, including BIPOC, immigrants, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

My approach to counseling is a combination of Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. However, I never stray far away from the ultimate goal of healing your heart. I believe that the relationship I build with those I work with is the most important factor to growth. I bring with me a unique and unusually wide-ranging array of personal experiences that allow me to connect with others in a warm, non-judgmental, and empathetic way. I am honored when people choose to share their pain with me and allow me to walk with them on their journey.

Sean has a keen sense while being an excellent listener-he remembers details about my world I forget I’ve shared, providing insight and validation which is my main purpose here, I need one to testify back to me how I am doing through my tough trial at this time, he understands me more than any other therapist has, which speaks volumes, I have not had to once remind him of anything about me-the attitude he brings each time is most valuable, and this is truly a gift to me at this time that is priceless-the weight of its effectiveness has been a tremendous help. I don’t need any other type of therapy more-I am very grateful for Betterhelp for connecting me to one that gets me and can truly be of real assistance. And I tell everyone about the discount, during these challenges it is a tremendous help as well!! Sean is seriously the best counsel I’ve had to date. Amazing!

I like that Sean addresses me by my name and I only had to pronounce my name once. His smile is always welcoming, I'm comfortable sharing with him. In my first session, he knew exactly what I was struggling with and he assigned me homework. He provides great feedback. I'm glad I was matched with him :).

Sean is an excellent counselor. As a person working in the mental health field as well, I knew I needed someone to help me along the way. Sean was a great person to talk to and help me understand and process things I have experienced. I felt safe, accepted, listened to, and had a genuine connection.
