I am happy you have reached my page. I am privileged to offer my services to you. I have recently changed my name to Ms. Devi Sundar (previously known as Shakila Devi Perumal)

I am a passionate counsellor and psychotherapist with over 17 years of experience in multiple countries (the UK, Ireland and India). I specialize in Cognitive behavioural therapy, Acceptance & commitment therapy, Emotional freedom therapy, Mindfulness and motivational interviewing. In my early career, most of my works were focused on the wider mental health issues in chronic respiratory population- COPD, ILD and Asthma. I believe that holistic patient care should be a therapist first priority.

Reaching out to mental health therapy can be challenging with societies stigmatized views on mental health, counselling and psychotherapy. I can assure you to offer my empathetic active listening skills to explore with you your potential to discover your journey on matters that triggered you to reach out to my therapy consultation and sessions. We can jointly explore and validate your feelings in a safe, respectful ambience. I use person-centred, psychodynamic, gestalt and existential therapy.

I offer individual and group in both faces to face and virtual settings. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, sessions will be virtually abiding by the government's health & safety regulations.

Devi was great. She responded in a timely manner, always made sure to understand where I was coming from in order to advise me with the best coping mechanisms possible. Overall, I felt very supported and understood by her. She always made sure to check in with me in between as well as after our sessions to set out what we had worked on which was very proactive way of working. Devi is really helpful and I am beyond grateful that I had the pleasure to work with her.

Devi is a wonderful therapist. She is excellent at listening and really understands all problems. She remembers topics from previous sessions really well and follows up on them. There is a structure to the sessions but one can leave them if any further matters become more relevant currently. I have become much more aware of and able to handle my emotions with her help and look forward to making further progress.

Devi is a great therapist - this is my first experience with therapy and I'm finding it really useful. She's very good at talking through new perspectives to how I've seen situations and asking challenging questions but in a supportive way. I've always felt sale and taken care of by her, and feel like I'm making progress working through what I wanted, finding new coping mechanisms, and moving areas of my life in a positive direction.

I've only just started speaking with shakila but even from the very first communication, she really listened made me feel like my thoughts were valid and gave me a greater understanding to my thoughts and made me feel like I can with her assistance get back to living my best life possible. She made me realise how strong of a person I really am.
