Shameika Monroe-Bostic, LPC, LCMHC
“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” Mayo Angelo
Hi! My name is Shameika Bostic and I am a LCMHC in North Carolina, a LPC in Virginia and South Carolina. I have over 12 years of counseling experience. I provide supportive counseling to all individuals with a wide range of concerns including: trauma, anxiety/stress, adjustment issues, communications skills, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, identity issues, (co)parenting problems ..... just to name a few. I will modify our dialogue and treatment planning to meet your unique and specific needs.
I would describe my approach to therapy as being eclectic, pulling from a variety of modalities to best serve the needs and goals of the client. The modalities in which I use most often include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy.
Taking the first step is knowing that there are people who you can listen to and lean on, who have lived through what you’re going through. My goal is to provide to you with some tools and coping techniques that you can utilize on a daily basis. I am confident that with you and I working together you will be more equipped to maneuver through those uncomfortable moments in your life.
In closing, I want to leave you with these words of encouragement, “whatever it is that is making you feel lonely or unloved, know that you are, and have always been, strong enough to get through it.”

In the short time I have been working with Shameika, I can already feel a difference in my mental health. She is just wonderful. Navigating the tragedy of losing my mom is the most painful thing I've ever encountered, and Shameika is so helpful.
She has given me tools and asked me questions that help me cope. I am so happy that I found her, and I am looking forward to my future time with her.

Shameika saw me through a very tough-to-navigate chapter in my life, and I'm so grateful! She listened carefully and remembered details from previous sessions to help me connect the dots and see more of myself and my potential. I feel like I have some new tools and strategies to do better by myself, and to enjoy more of my life.

Shameika has been extremely supportive during my healing journey. She listens well and keeps a nice sense of humor during our sessions. We address all of my goals and the sessions are often self led which is helpful for me but I can rely on her keeping us on track. I would highly recommend her as a therapist.
