I earned my Masters in Clinical counseling and obtained state licensure then went on to complete a doctorate degree in counseling studies. I have extensive experience with depression, anxiety, addiction, family issues, relationship issues, trauma or negative life events, self esteem and motivational issues.
I also have experience with grief counseling. My newest treatment approach is working with divorced parents with co parenting issues. I use a psychoanalytical approach with a cognitive behavioral treatment plan to assist with positive change in a person's life. I believe once a person understands the inner strength he or she has to provoke positive change, then almost all things are possible.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Shannon Barnes. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I am enjoying my chats with Dr. Barnes, having a forum where I can type out my feelings is therapeutic in itself, better than I thought. Her replies keep me accountable and give me a safe space for taking the time to sit and think about my feelings and behaviours in a busy schedule.
