About me

Hello there! My name is Shannon and I am a LPC. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma for my undergraduate bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Zoology. I then moved to Fort Worth, Texas where I completed my master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University. I have been practicing for the past 5 years in the state of Texas with experience in private practice as well as a treatment center for eating disorders. While in private practice I had a focus on helping individuals with intimacy issues, eating disorders, lifestyle changes, and anxiety. I then decided to get more experience working with severe cases of eating disorders in a treatment center focused on the care of eating disorders as a Primary Therapist.
I believe in compassion, respect, and trust in a therapeutic relationship. My style is a combination of narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. I believe everyone is unique and there is no “one size fits all” therapy. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is collaborative. I like to think that you are the driver of the car and I am the mirrors to help guide you where to go. Our therapy sessions will be a place to process your life, learn concrete tools to manage emotions, and a place to say and share whatever is on your heart.

I believe that we are never truly stuck in our situations and would be honored to help you navigate the road that has brought you in to therapy. It takes courage to seek help and I applaud you for doing so.

I look forward to working with you!

I've been working with Shanon for several months now and she has helped me a lot through some difficult circumstances. She listens attentively and has offered invaluable advice and support even educationally with studies and training aids she was able to share. I would recommend her to anyone. She really cares.

Shannon is honestly one of the best therapists I have ever had. She is very detail oriented and listens to what you have to say. She wants to learn about you before trying to dive into anything too personal. If you need someone to bring you back to reality, help you through struggles, and help you open your eyes with her genuine nature and kindness, pick Shannon. You truly will not regret it.
