About me

I am a accredited counsellor with the National Counselling Society in the UK, with 4 years of experience. I achieved my Bachelor Degree with Honours in Psychology at Aston University, and then went on to successfully complete my Masters in Counselling at Worcester University. I have also been trained in Life Coaching as well, which I use to support my clients while we are working together. Previously, I have worked with clients who have problems with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, disruptive behavioural patterns, OCD, addictions and phobias. Myself and the client have worked together to discuss and approach these issues while in sessions.

My approach to counselling is primarily cognitive and person centred therapy and mindfulness, but I do incorporate other approaches such as psychodynamic approach into our sessions. The approach will be discussed with you, in regards to what you would like to achieve and get out of the counselling sessions. Respect and compassion is a large part of the therapeutic relationship, and all my clients are treated with warmth, integrity and compassion, always. Communication is also key, and I am always available to listen to any issues you are having within the session itself. The whole counselling sessions are tailored to meet your unique and specific needs, to ensure that your journey down this healing path is as efficient and easy as possible for you.

Taking the first step into therapy can be a scary and confusing time to many. I hope to hear from you and start the journey together.

Shannon is awesome. I believe we have bonded really well considering that we live in different sides of the world. I don’t think I’d find anyone better in my own city.

Ms. Shannon Hart is an amazing therapist. She has a great amount of understanding of the human brain/psychology. She listens to my problems patiently and provides me with practical solutions to the problems. She is very punctual and sincere. She responds to my messages promptly and offers to me a variety of resources such as worksheets, live chat sessions, etc. She gives me her objective opinion whenever I am stuck with something. She is not only a therapist but a friend too. Above all, she's a wonderful human being. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a sincere therapy. Thank you.

I think Shannon is great at what she does and evidently a very good person. I've gained a lot out of our sessions so far and I'm looking forward to the improvements I can make after more sessions.
