Hi there! My name is Shannon Nicholson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in St. Louis, Missouri. I have been a licensed counselor since 2015 and I am excited to work with you. I graduated with my Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Missouri State University and have worked with a variety of clients, from youth and families in residential care to victims and survivors of intimate partner violence. I am an advocate for my clients and walk alongside them toward their goals.
My specialties include depression and anxiety, stress-related issues, trauma, communication challenges, and self-esteem. My approach to counseling is goal oriented and client centered. The main modalities I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), balanced with a warm and empathic style. When I am not working with clients, I can be found hiking with my partner and dogs or cuddled up watching Netflix.
