About me

I am a licensed and registered psychotherapist with over a decade of professional clinical experience. I have extensive experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, assisting victims of substance misuse, recovery, PTSD, depression, & coping with life changes. Narcissistic abuse and relationship/marital issues have been a specific specialty along with ADHD/autism work. I have supported people with their understanding of the above issues. quite extensively for at the very least 5-10 years. Clients struggling to reconcile and manage transitions through and out of their relationships along with providing skills to cope with their ADHD/Autism, relationship, anxiety and depression challenges has become a focus of my practice. I have several years of in-depth experience working with men and women that have experienced child abuse, emotional, mental , physical and sexual abuse and domestic violence, along with human trafficking.

I believe that absolutely everyone has a unique story, one that makes you, the individual that you are. Each of us have life challenges at one time or another, the strength to deal with those challenges is within you, I am here to walk beside you, provide support to the best of my ability whilst offering skills to cope, manage and ultimately overcome those challenges you seek to improve your life and mental wellbeing. I genuinely help you discover or even rediscover the power you already have that will assist you in dealing with the issues that challenge you. I regularly support clients with chronic and terminal illnesses, ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, sudden death and grief. I have lived experience of narcissistic abuse, domestic violence, trauma, anxiety, depression, sudden death and divorce. I truly believe that these experiences put me in a certain, privileged space to provide an empathetic, safe position to share your difficulties with as an integrative therapist with many theoretically backed therapeutic skills. Those personal experiences have allowed and informed my desire to be better, grow emotionally and put a stop to the cycle of abuse in my family. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process. I absolutely love what I do, it is a privilege to be able to help you facilitate the change you want or need. Whether you chose to work with me or another therapist, please be sure you feel safe, comfortable and speak your truth because it is the greatest thing you can do for yourself and your life.

I truly wish you all the very best as you take this wonderful, maybe scary, yet brave decision to embark upon counselling, congratulations, it’s not an easy thing to do!

Sharen has been a wonderful therapist for me over the last two years. I was terrified at first but she was nothing but patient and professional. We've built a great deal of trust and her support has become invaluable to me as I've grown these past two years. She knows exactly when to challenge me and does so with great finesse. I have no doubt that I'll continue to see her for many years to come. I couldn't recommend her highly enough, I feel I stuck gold first time with her as my therapist.

Oh Sharen is great. We’ve been working together for 3 years, she’s been very supportive, kind, considerate, and a real helping hand. She’s helped me deal with very difficult situations in my life especially in the last year, and I’ve really felt a difference between the person I was when I first met her to who I am now.

Sharen is an amazing therapist who brings warmth, understanding, and a great sense of humor to every session. She has a unique way of making me feel at ease, even when discussing difficult topics, and her humor adds a lightness that makes the process so much more comfortable. One of the most valuable things she’s taught me is how to use the 'gorilla fist,' a technique that has been a game-changer for managing stress and anxiety. Sharen’s combination of empathy, wisdom, and practical tools has truly helped me grow, and I’m incredibly grateful for her support.
