About me

I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a rich background in social work spanning over 30 years. I have served in various capacities, including as a Combat Medic in the Army, an Air Force Reservist, and ultimately retiring from Active Duty Air Force as a Social Worker. Additionally, I have spent 8 years in private practice before relocating from San Antonio, Texas to the New York area to be closer to my aging family members.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive expertise in academia, mental health, school counseling, life coaching, critical incident debriefing, and group work. My therapeutic approach is rooted in client-centered care, where I prioritize the needs and goals of my clients. I utilize a range of evidence-based techniques, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Emotional Freedom Technique (also known as Tapping).

In our sessions, I believe in fostering a collaborative environment where we work together to address the challenges you are facing. I assign homework and actively engage in dialogue to ensure progress and growth.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Sharon Bailey. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I've only had a few sessions thus far with Sharon but it has been an immediate relief to know that I am in good hands. Ms. Sharon is relatable, she started with homework which I like because I NEED a therapist who wants to get to the bottom of my why and I want a therapist who is beyond the textbook. Ms. Sharon makes me want to trust the process and I normally need to know what is what before making a move.

Sharon was kind and patient. She listened carefully as I went on and on forever, without interrupting me. She gently offered pearls of wisdom when I took a moment every now and then to stop complaining .
In a very nonjudgmental way, Sharon understood and acknowledged my feelings and circumstances and was very supportive . She offered very practical and encouraging advice to help me heal and grow one day at a time. After just one session, with Sharon, a professional counselor (who felt more like a good friend), I was better able to handle my emotional stressors for the rest of the week. I’m looking forward to my next session with Sharon!

Absolutely love Mrs. Sharon, she is timely and authentic from the first session we had. Her past experience and my current experience coincide so that our sessions are clear and effective. We share the same faith in Christ so all of our conversations are rooted and aligned. Very grateful for Mrs. Sharon and better help for making our sessions so seamless!

I really love Sharon’s style, she talks to me like a person vs clinical , she asks great questions that I ponder for days and gives great suggestions and homework. I really enjoy my sessions with her.

We have only had 2 sessions. Sharon is an excellent listener. She is quite adept @ pinpointing the crux of the matter. She is insightful & thoughtful, yet kind & considerate.
