Sharon Lin, LMFT
About me
My name is Sharon Lin. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 13 years of clinical experience in community and private practice settings, having worked with a diverse clientele including adolescents and adults in individual, couples, and family therapy. I have extensive experience in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, school/academic problems, infidelity, stages of life, stress management and relationship/marital difficulties. I have lived in four different countries and am bilingual in English and Mandarin. I am very experienced in working with clients who may be experiencing language and/or cultural adjustment difficulties related to immigration, cross-generational issues in families, bi-cultural relationships and domestic violence.
As a therapist, my priority is to ensure that my clients' needs are met in treatment. This is accomplished by not only providing evidenced-based therapeutic interventions and skills, but more importantly, being able to establish strong therapeutic relationship between myself and my clients. I have a warm, compassionate, genuine and relatable personality, and am collaborative and flexible in developing treatment plans that consider each client’s unique circumstances, backgrounds, presenting issues and goals.
It is not an easy task to be vulnerable and acknowledge that we are struggling and need help. The fact that you are considering counseling means you are insightful regarding your experiences and feelings, and have taken the very important first step to overcome an obstacle. I am committed to and invested in your well-being, will help you identify your strengths and resiliency, adapt new perspectives and skills, and will be your consistent source of support and ally towards living a healthy and fulfilling life.
