I am licensed in Illinois with 6 years of professional work experience. Throughout those years, I have gained experience providing therapy to individuals who may be dealing with substance use, anger/stress management, anxiety, depression, grief & loss, as well as trauma. I have experience working with teens, young adults, BIPOC, and adult men.
I believe in the necessity of cultural competence and sensitivity when working with clients from diverse backgrounds and populations. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and discuss how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. I also focus on empowering clients by using empathy and a strength based approach. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you.
Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. It will sometimes be challenging, frustrating, and complicated, but also very rewarding and reflective. I do want you to know that throughout the therapeutic process, I am here to support you along this journey. With some hard work and dedication, you will be on a path of growth that will truly make you happy. Congrats on being an advocate for your own mental health and wellbeing! I look forward to working with you.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Sharonda Giles. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
She is fast to respond to messages and is very encouraging when it comes to goals and self growth!
I can tell Sharonda Giles is a wonderful therapist and person. The few times I’ve talked to her she’s made me instantly feel comfortable. I can tell she wants to be in the profession just for her love of helping people. She has such a calm yet cheerful voice it’s almost hard not to feel like I have to tell her all my problems lol! I have been really shy in the past few weeks about starting therapy, but after some thought I realized that I needed to start therapy and she helped influence that. BetterHelp better get this therapist a raise, the only reason why I’m still going to pay for this service now is because of her and her positive attitude towards the profession. Thank you for your help so far, I really appreciate it.
Patient, sweet, kind and understanding. It was hard trying to find another therapist that I felt comfortable with but Sharonda has been very warm and insightful in our sessions. She offers comfort and tools to help cope with whatever is going on, and in the short time I've worked with her I feel like I've grown tremendously. I highly recommend her if you are feeling skeptical about therapy, she'll change your mind!
She’s fantastic. Empathetic, patient, understanding, and enjoyable to talk to. She also pushes me and provides constructive objectives with an eye toward overall improvement.
Sharonda has been wonderful. So easy to talk to and teaches me something new and useful every session.
