Hello, my name is Sheila Funk-Jansen. I am a licensed clinical therapist in Iowa and Illinois. I graduated with my MSW in social work in 2003 from University of Missouri-Columbia. I have worked with a variety of courageous people in my journey to help them be more vulnerable, brave, and resilient. For the last 25+ years, I I have worked with people experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, family conflicts, and many other areas of life. I believe people have the resiliency to move the barriers that life presents to us. Life is all about learning. Learning about ourselves and giving up our comforts in life are scary even if they are unhealthy. Each person is unique and I am here to start where you are at in your journey. I utilize therapy approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focus Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing along with utilizing other modalities. The client and therapist's alliance is crucial in providing a safe, non judgmental space to be open and vulnerable to see their potential and resiliency to grow when experiencing hurt and pain.
I see people through the week along with some weekends. I work with schedules as much as I can to help get people in sooner when needed. I look forward in working with you. Sheila

She is wonderful. Very professional
I have been working with Sheila for about a year and half. When I first met Sheila, I had just lost my partner of 9 years and I was a total mess in so many ways. Sheila has helped me through the good times and the bad over the last 18 months and I don't know where my life would be today if it wasn't for Sheila's help. Forever grateful!!!!
The beginning of a first timers therapy experience a lot involved with finding the right therapist. After a couple, I met with Shiela & immediately knew this was the one. She actually engages, listens, and offer solutions.
Great personalized experience with Sheila. Her style of guidance and my style of learning match pretty well. Going to stick with her and highly recommend reaching out to her for therapy services.
If I could chose to have a therapist for life it would be Sheila Funk Jansen
Sheila is great

Sheila has been great during our first sessions. She is an excellent listener and will let you talk. When she responds, she responds with care and a thoughtful reply. She calls me out on what I need to work on in a friendly way and I NEED that. I’m excited for more sessions with her
Sheila has been a great support system for me. I've really tried to dive into therapy and Sheila has been very welcoming, she listens and knows when to interject and share coping mechanisms and strategies. She's helped me come to realizations that I haven't thought about before and is always a positive light during some stressful weeks. I look forward to working on myself with Sheila's guidance!
Ms.Sheila is a wonderful therapist. She is very understanding and will make you feel extremely welcomed on your very first session and will only continue to carry that out throughout the sessions.
