I'm Sheila, a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor (LPC, NCC), and I have been in practice for over 18 years. I love what I do, which is listening, helping and guiding people as they learn the tools to achieve their therapeutic goals. I've worked with individuals, children/adolescents, families, and couples with such issues as grief/loss, anger management, relationship/family conflict, career challenges, depression, anxiety, and communication issues.
I've been fortunate to work with a variety of different people of all ages, cultures and socio-economic statuses and those sessions have occurred in a variety of settings--- from private offices to schools to military bases to court to therapy in the home. This range of experience has taught me that there is no "one size, fits all" when it comes to therapy. Just as you are a unique individual, your therapy must be as well.
I believe in creating a trusted partnership with my clients, and employ a warmly diplomatic but direct style of communication. I draw from various evidence-based theories and modalities such as cognitive-behavioral, humanistic and family systems; together we will discover what is most helpful for you.
I look forward to partnering with you!

Sheila is amazing! Not only does she have a really personable “bed side” manner, but she is able to identify what’s really going on and not just what you might arm chair diagnose yourself as. I always look forward to my session and know that I’ve made a huge amount of progress which wouldn’t have been possible on my own or with the therapist options I have available to me (currently living in a foreign country with little understanding of mental health issues). Can’t recommend her enough!!
