About me

Congratulations! You have taken a courageous step by seeking help!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Michigan with 26 years of professional work experience in a variety of settings including public schools and hospitals. I have successfully helped clients with such issues as stress and anxiety, family conflicts, motivation, self esteem and confidence, & depression. My style of therapy is very upfront, as I have found that being direct with clients (and them being direct as well) has been the most effective way to progress through challenges. At the same time, I work hard to treat everyone with respect and compassion. I also love to laugh, and utilize humor as part of my therapy regularly. I will work with you to develop a treatment plan that effectively meets your needs and increases overall happiness. Thank you for considering my support!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Shelley Rychener. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I have worked with a handful of therapists online and off and no one "gets me" like Shelley has. Our ability to be direct and truthful with each other to get at the heart of the matter makes all of the difference. I appreciate her use of humor, which allows me to do the same. Shelley has created a warm, welcoming, supportive space for me to examine different aspects of my situation, with the utmost professionalism and helpful "homework."

Shelley is wonderful! She is objective, yet compassionate, and she has a lighthearted, humorous approach to therapy — which I always appreciate. She remains objective and gives me unbiased advice. I never feel judged or pressured in my sessions with her. Each session feels like a conversation with a longtime friend, and I look forward to each one. Highly recommend Shelley!

Shelley is a great therapist, It can be difficult to find a therapist that works for you, but from the first time I talked to Shelley I genuinely feel like she wants to help me and she always makes me feel like she hears my concerns and and gives me productive feedback in a way I can understand it.
