I have had my Masters in Counseling since 1994. I have worked with families, individuals and groups for 27 years. I have provided services in the office and in client homes. I have worked with individuals with various traumas and diagnosis'. I have provided groups for substance abuse, depression, and domestic violence survivors and perpetrators. I am a Certified Trauma Informed Professional working with a number of different traumas.
My focus is on the person centered and trauma informed care. I use what therapeutic modality is appropriate for that individual, I come from a systems theory background, understanding people and events interact with each other. I work with the client to identify a tailored treatment plan with goals agreed upon with the individual client. I am a laid back but a goal focused therapist. Therapy focuses on change and it takes courage to want to change as well as make that first step to go to therapy. Having that courage to take that first step I will be here to support and empower you in where you want to go.
I look forward o working with you.

Once I found the right counselor, better help is very helpful and I love that I don't have to leave the house. As I am a caregiver that would be impossible.
Let's be real...therapy terrified me! I have trauma and it's scary for me to acknowledge and even scarier to talk with someone about, but I knew I needed to deal with it. I chose Better Help because of the ease-of-use and the variety of counselors available. When I was matched with Shelly, I was excited and scared to start, but during our first appointment, I knew Shelly was the right therapist to help me. She listened, asked thought-provoking questions and immediately gave me an assignment designed to help get to the root of my concerns. Since then, we've had really great sessions and I'm learning more about me every time. I guess you could say I am starting to feel whole for the first time in decades. Shelly always puts me at ease and provides the right guidance and "homework" that I need. I am so glad Better Help matched me with Shelly...she's the best!
I have been in therapy with Shelly for the last 3.5 months and I have found the sessions to be incredibly helpful. I was feeling very anxious, lost and sometimes quite worthless. Shelly listens and asks questions to my concerns and from our sessions we set weekly, realistic goals. I feel like I am in a much better, less anxious headspace compared to 3 months ago. This is due to Shelly’s help, great support, quick encouraging journal responses and informative weekly live sessions. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Shelly to anyone who wishes to take up therapy. Thank you for all your help these last few months Shelly. I’m so thankful and appreciative of all your help!
I have only worked with Shelly for a short time, but I feel very comfortable with her. She is a good listener and she has been extremely helpful. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking help and advice.
I am so thankful for Shelly and her input and knowledge in steps of healing from my past and present issues. She is very easy to talk to and always makes your feelings valid. Better help matched me with my exact type of therapist I pictured her to be!
I really enjoy talking with Shelly. She’s provided me some great insight. I’m happy I found Shelly.
I’ve really found Shelley’s advice helpful. She listens thoughtfully and without judgement. I feel that she has really useful insights that have enabled me to make positive steps.
Shelly is an amazing counselor. She’s understanding, and goes at the pace that her client is comfortable with. I would recommend her to anyone.
Shelly is really wonderful! As someone who has been through different types of therapy, I can confidently say that Shelly is a great listener and truly has my healing and wholeness in mind. Initially I wanted a male therapist, but I'm grateful that I was paired with her.
Shelly is very very knowledgeable
Amazing! Listens and really does help to heal!
I’ve only had one session so far with Shelly, but I am very happy so far! She listens, and I never feel silly or invalidated. She recommended something that I never would have thought of, and I’m excited for my future healing!
Ms Ehmann is a very good listener and asks very mindful questions. Her non-judgmental and understanding nature is a breath of fresh air in a therapeutic setting. I would definitely recommend speaking with her.
