About me

My name is Shelly Flachs, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Illinois, Iowa, Maine, and Missouri with over 10 years of experience working with individuals to help guide them through their life's journey. I have worked with people challenged by depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, and life changing situations. My approach is solution focused, client centered, and strengths-based drawing heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Theory and Emotional Freedom Technique.

When working with clients I strive to make the therapy experience genuine, positive, respectful, and safe. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in doing great things and overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started! I am excited to meet you and work together to identify your goals and make plans to achieve them. I view each person as an individual; therefore, I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
