Dr. Sheri Wester

About Me

Hello! If you are exploring Better Help, it is likely that you are struggling with something significant in your life. Finding the right person to help you through these challenges is very important. If you don't have a good relationship with your counselor, you won't make the progress you are hoping to achieve. I want to provide you with some information about me in order to help you decide if my experience and style is the right match for you.

I am a professional counselor licensed in Wyoming. I have been counseling individuals since 2003 when I graduated with a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology. In 2018 I graduated with a Ph.D. in General Psychology, which added to my knowledge base. Throughout the years, I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, community mental health centers, and schools. I have worked with people of all ages struggling with depression, anxiety, and self-harm. I have done work with people involving career paths, self-esteem/self-confidence, coping skills, life-transitions, and everyday issues. My approach is client-centered and I use theory and techniques from humanistic, solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and psychoeducational among other modalities. I understand that each person's experiences and needs are unique and I will tailor our work to fit your goals.

I can interact with you in the manner you are most comfortable with including messaging and live sessions. My availability is primarily in the evenings and on the weekends.

I know finding a counselor can be difficult and I would be honored to take this journey with you.

Dr. Wester gives me a lot of confidence that I’m with the right person. I feel I’m able to connect with her, and at the same time feel like she has the exact expertise and knowledge to give me advice, coaching and understanding that I absolutely need. She is professional, but I also feel a level of connection that I require to feel comfortable. Which for me is a necessary level of comfort I need from a person to feel understood. I feel like she’s there for me. And she has deep experience in a lot of areas. And this gives me confidence that she understands human struggles, methods to truly dig deep into discovering core struggles, and tactics to overcome challenge uncertainty and hurt.
