About me

To all my Prospective Clients:

Hello, I am Sherry ("Share") Friedman,

I am a clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) licensed in North Carolina with over 8 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I have worked with clients to address a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, emotional trauma and abuse, and career challenges.

My professional expertise is a multi-dimensional combination of psychodynamic transpersonal psychotherapy and traditional cognitive-behavioral "talk therapy". This means that I use a holistic approach and techniques that address each individual client's biopsychosocial-cultural-spiritual, energetic, and cosmological influences.

In my background as a nurse, doula, and energy healer, I have also helped support women with postpartum depression and parents experiencing adjustment issues associated with their changing roles.

As both a psychotherapist and a nurse-coach with a warm, interactive counseling style, I tend to gravitate toward clinical assessment and listening skills based on "Listening with HEART" (Healing, Energy, Awareness, Resiliency, Transformation).

As an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) and an HSP therapist I believe strongly in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.

The ultimate goal of all therapy is transformation, so that we can exist as the highest, best version of ourselves. This typically involves finding one's life purpose and who we incarnated on this planet to become. This kind of self-discovery requires a rare form of bravery. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and take that first step toward change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

All the best,
Share Friedman, MA, MS Ed., MSCC, LCMHC

Sherry is truly a special therapist. I have had several therapist throughout my life - depending on different locations I was in and different events taking place in my life. Finding a therapist that you resonate with can be such a daunting task. I truly feel a higher power brought me to this therapist. She challenges me, supports me, and always leaves me pondering things we discuss after our sessions. I feel very comfortable when speaking with her. She is the perfect mix of scientifically back evidence and free-form that I have been looking for. I’m very pleased !

I absolutely love Sherry and her ability to understand what techniques work and what may not. She is incredibly open, transparent, and flexible. She allows herself to be vulnerable with you as you share your vulnerability. That is a key part to how she helped me connect back with my inner self and begin my healing journey as I take ahold of this new chapter in my life. Wonderful and would recommend her to anyone who is feeling disconnected from their true selves.
