Sherry Martinez, LCSW
About me
I am licensed in Texas with 20 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, & depression, and LGBTQIA+. I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional; I also have many years experience treating individuals with Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder and Personality Disorders. I changed careers mid-life. When I was in my forties, I realized the work I was in (business management) did not provide the sense of achievement and purpose I was looking for. I returned to school and was able to obtain my Master's in Social Work; underwent two additional years of clinical supervision to achieve my Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with individuals from all walks of life, from ages 25 to 102, who all had their own unique stories to relate. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Sherry is very flexible and has the ability to adapt to your level of communication and ways of expression. She moves in your pace and gives you as much room you need to voice your needs and issues. She’s also very well versed in finding solutions to behaviors and coping mechanisms. She’s also very funny when time is allowed, haha!
