Shirley Souder, LMFT, LCSW
About me
My degrees encompass Christian Counseling with a Theology minor from Fort Wayne Bible College. A Psychology /Industrial Psychology BS from University of St. Francis and a Masters Degree in Psychology also from the University of St. Francis. My theory of approach is from William Glasser's work on Reality Therapy. How is helping you to do what you do? What do you need to do about that? And, when do you want to Change? I marry that with Christian Counseling applications. Not only do I teach people how to study the Word, but how to apply it to their own lives in todays world. I work best with teens, individual issues, marriage counseling, widows, widowers, new normal life skills. Interview for a new job, nutrition suggestions, personality and behavior issues, and how to deal with difficult people. And, especially Emotional Forgiveness Skills.

I connected with Shirley during a career and life transition, and from session one her years of experience got to the root of the issues and she clearly understood me and could give practical advice and support to help me move forward. She’s an incredible woman and I will definitely seek her services in the future! I’ve been telling all my friends and acquaintances to try BetterHelp! I am very glad I signed up and overjoyed that I met Shirley, a true treasure and beautiful woman of God.

Let me be very honest, I was very skeptical about starting any type of therapy. I never understood why people go for things like this. Shirley has made me see how effective and beneficial therapy is! She helped me focus on some major issues (especially the ones I was in deep denial about) and helped me develop techniques for keeping myself calm. I, for one, have seen a difference! And one thing I absolutely love about Shirley is how she incorporates God into each of our sessions! She even backs up what she says with scripture and I loved that. Shirley is such a woman of wisdom and anyone and everyone can benefit from having some time to talk with her. God bless you Shirley!
