About me

I am a licensed New York State psychotherapist treating adults, couples, and families in a range of mental health conditions. I earned my Master of Social Work degree, specializing in Clinical Psychotherapy. My areas of specialization include self-esteem, depression, eating disorders, life transitions and anxiety. I have spent numerous years working within the realm of Eating Disorders and was the Program Director at an Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Program in Long Island. I have obtained my Clinical Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee (CASAC-T) certification and a Diploma in Personal Nutrition. I am also certified in CBT-E (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders) through Oxford University's CREDO initiative.

Comfort and rapport are essential to therapy. This coupled with empathy and compassion, can lead to a truly fulfilling journey. I use a person-centered approach when working with clients since each person has their own lens with which they see the world. I use various clinical approaches based upon client needs, but I particularly enjoy using elements of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

In understanding that each individual has personalized histories, experiences, and beliefs; I incorporate a diverse and eclectic approach to treat personal needs. Through working together, your goals can be achieved and the life you have been searching for will be reached. Although life may present struggles and adversity, much can be accomplished toward the present and future to help resolve any challenges or obstacles that may impact you. I am highly dedicated toward the well-being of my clients and demonstrate empathy and compassion toward struggles that they have encountered. If you are seeking support or guidance through a challenging time or are simply interested in personal growth and development, I look forward to working with you.

Sivan has been a godsend. I highly recommend her to anyone!!! She is the best and we connected day 1!

Sivan is an incredible counselor. She's honestly the best thing that's happened to me. She truly listens and responds with helpful advice and strategies to work through my issues. She gives me homework to do that helps me process what I am feeling. She gives me a safe space with a smile, which is incredible. She checks in on me as if she can "feel" in the ether when I'm about to lose it. Sivan is saving my sanity and I am so grateful for her in my life as I deal with recent trauma. Honestly, I can never thank her enough.

Very happy with Sivan's listening skills, empathy and guidance. I trust not only her expertise, but that she really can "see" me. She's phenomenal! I even specifically recommended her to my sister to potentially explore services with. I also love the BetterHelp platform because it doesn't require travel time. That aspect is very important for busy professionals. Just make sure you have strong internet if you opt to do video so that there is no delay in the feed.

Sivan is very kind and caring, lets you express yourself how you need to, and find ways to cope without making you feel bad. Empowering for sure.
