About me

Hi! My name is Skyler Dorsey and I am a licensed mental health therapist in the States of Washington and Oregon. I have been working in the field of social work for over 20 years and mental health for over 10 years. I received my master's degree in social work in 2006 from Eastern Washington University. I have experience with depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. I primarily use cognitive behavioral and strengths based therapeutic methods to help people identify what isn't working in their lives and how to make changes that will lead to greater life satisfaction. I began as a part-time therapist with Betterhelp in August of 2018 and transitioned to make it my full-time job in December of 2019. Together, we can work to help move you along the path to happiness and contentment.
I look forward to working with you!

I’ve only been on Betterhelp for two weeks. I’ve had two sessions with Skyler and so far she has been great at listening and giving advice as well as being kind and compassionate. She asks questions, sends me different worksheets and helps me set and keep my goals! I’ve been to a handful of therapists but so far she’s been the best!

Skylar has a wide understanding of the human condition and has helped illuminate certain facets of my understanding of self that i would not have arrived at had she not put my tribulations into a communicable perspective. She has assisted me in seeing my world through a different pair of glasses, i think people like her are why this app is allowed to be called Better Help, Skyler is better help.
