About me

I’m a UK-licensed therapist with over six years of experience supporting people through a wide range of challenges, including stress, anxiety, trauma, abuse, depression, and difficulties around self-esteem and confidence.

I also have a special interest in working with cultural and faith-based struggles, particularly for those from South Asian Muslim backgrounds, as this is my own lived experience too. I know this can sometimes feel like an area where the least support is available, especially when trying to balance tradition with the pressures of today’s world.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from humanistic, existential, attachment-based, and CBT approaches. In practice, this means I adapt to you. Sometimes we may reflect deeply on meaning and identity, sometimes we may explore relationships and patterns, and other times we may focus on practical tools to ease day-to-day struggles.

Above all, I work with warmth, respect, and compassion. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll shape the therapy in a way that feels supportive and right for you.

It takes real courage to look for support and to take those first steps toward change. I see therapy as a journey we walk together. One that can help you move toward a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling, and true to you. I would be honoured to support and empower you along the way.

Written on Dec 05, 2024 after therapy with Sobia for 3 weeks on issues concerning stress, anxiety, intimacy-related issues, career difficulties, and coping with life changes

Sobia is the first therapist to listen to me deeply- not just addressing my current anxieties and concerns, but trying to uncover what else is going on and has happened in my life up to this point. I have benefited from each session by her intuitive questions, empathy, and expertise. I feel so grateful to have been matched with her! Thank you!

Written on May 27, 2024 after therapy with Sobia for 3 weeks on issues concerning relationship issues, self esteem, and coaching

Sobia doesn’t ask unnecessary questions, nor does she make any judgements. She actively hears my concerns and is direct with me (which is what I need). There is no condescension nor ‘knowing all’ or arrogance.
