I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Doctorate in Behavioral Health and over ten years of mental health experience, and I am a military officer. My education includes a B.S. in psychology, a Masters in Health Service Administration, a Masters in Social Work, and a Doctorate in Behavioral Health (clinical) with five years of studying integrated care.
I use a holistic approach and solution-focused approach when providing therapy to my clients which involves assessing if a client has co-morbid issues such as diabetes and depression or chronic pain and anxiety. I believe it is vital to assist clients with health management while addressing mental health issues. I am caring and compassionate and recognize that there is still a stigma associated with seeking mental health treatment. As a result, I appreciate anyone that takes time to care for their state of mind as it is just as important as maintaining physical health. Additional treatment modalities that I use include mindfulness practice, dialectal behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.
In addition to providing services to the civilian population, I also have experience working with the military community to include Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard, and Veterans. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, personality disorders; i.e., borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorders, trauma, sexual abuse, self-esteem issues, and PTSD. I am a military Victim Advocate who completed Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) which provides me with additional skills to assist those that are survivors/victims of sexual assault and to intervene appropriately and prevent the risk of suicidal thoughts and suicidal behaviors. I also have experience working with clients dealing with substance abuse issues, adjustment problems, grief and loss, and work-related stressors.
Additional areas of focus: Relationship issues, Grief, Intimacy-related issues, Parenting issues, Anger management, Self esteem, Career difficulties, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes, Coaching, Compassion fatigue, Autism and Asperger Syndrome, Blended Family Issues, Chronic Pain Illness and Disability, Co-morbidity, Communication Problems, Coping with Natural or Human-Caused Disaster, Divorce and Separation, Emptiness, Family Problems, Forgiveness, Guilt and Shame, Immigration Issues, Impulsivity, Isolation / Loneliness, Life Purpose, Midlife Crisis, Military and Veterans Issues, Money and Financial Issues, Mood Disorders, Multicultural Concerns, Personality Disorders, Post-traumatic Stress, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), Self-Harm, Sexual Assault and Abuse, Women's Issues, Workplace Issues, Young Adult Issues

Very good at helping me work through traumatic life events I've been dealing with. The feeling of comfort and being able to let it out was something my regular therapists lacked. Highly recommended
