About me

Hello! My name is Stacey and I am a marriage and family therapist licensed in California, with over 9 years of experience providing therapy. I have worked with clients with a wide range of challenges including: depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship issues, parenting issues, pre and post-partum struggles, and addiction. Many of my clients have experienced trauma such as physical, sexual or emotional abuse.

My therapy style is compassionate and genuine. I tend to incorporate humor where appropriate. I am truly honored to get to know people and their stories. I believe you are the expert in your life and my role is to support and assist you with becoming the best version of yourself. We all get bogged down with life (because life is hard!) and sometimes need extra support! My approach is client centered and typically solution focused, while also utilizing cognitive-behavioral and emotion focused techniques to help you make the changes you desire. I will meet you where you are, and develop a plan to reach your goals, at a pace that works for you.

It takes so much courage to seek help. As you take the first steps towards improving your life, I'm honored you've considered me to help. We were meant to do so much more than simply "survive", I want you to thrive! I look forward to hearing from you.

I truly love better Yelp it has helped work around my schedule with life as well as being organized and my therapist give me alternative options like worksheets to do on my free time

My experience with Stacey Athias has been very good. I contacted better help regarding the stresses related to my retirement and dealing with family health issues as a care giver. Her communication style is straight forward and she is a good listener. She is also compassionate while still having the ability to listen and at times challenging the way I think regarding various situations/communications /conflicts. Her knowledge of the various subjects and providing both resources and exercises to help me thru my own internal processes were all greatly appreciated. I have enjoyed the process and being able to connect with her.

When talking to Stacey, it feels as if i am talking to a friend and not a therapist. She makes the conversation genuine and authentic. It is a great feeling.
