About Me

Hello and welcome! I am a licensed clinical social worker in Kentucky with the majority of my career being in an outpatient community mental health setting as a psychotherapist whereas I have treated a wide variety of mental health conditions. I have worked with clients between the ages of 5 to 60-years-old. My niche in clinical practice is rooted in trauma, attachment, and intrapersonal violence, however I do treat other conditions, as well.

To name a few models / modalities I commonly utilize, which I am trained in--Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Other more foundational models / approaches I utilize are (list is not exhaustive) --Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Problem-solving approach, etc.

I often times describe my therapy style as integrative, down-to-earth, and non-superficial. With my many trauma-focused trainings, I am not an impulsive therapist and
tend to uncover "root" issues which more times than not, are grounded in an adverse life experience (otherwise termed as hardship), which act as a binder for clients to connect the pieces to their life puzzle. I stand to NOT be the expert in your life, or the space we hold presence together. For any person who elects to work with me should expect a portion of their therapy experience to be psychoeducation--specifically, learning how the body and the mind works, to then apply the knowledge of therapy. I am an advocate on empowering folks. Further, you should expect to understand how your autonomic nervous system works and to ground yourself----so, working body-based components alongside mind-based therapy for an integrative therapy package.

Folks that I have worked with have told me that I am a practitioner that thrives off of clients' feedback. So, I look to constantly better (not perfect) my process for you (not me) as this is a bidirectional flow, one that stands to be non-judgmental and non-personalizing. You coming as you are and being who you are, means we have an authentic space, and for that, I can appreciate!

Some background on me: I am a veteran who served 14-years in the United States Army in the components of active duty, part-time, reserves, then went on to the Department of Defense in the United States Navy. I have two undergraduate degrees in science and a master's degree in Social Work.

I look forward to understanding your needs and being of assistance to you. This space is inclusive to all races, and ages, and is a LGBTQ+ safe zone. Please ask any question(s) you might have.

I am completely new to therapy of any kind. Stacey made me feel comfortable and safe to share even the hardest things. I am very glad I had my time with her tonight.
