About me

Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Behavior Specialist. I have enjoyed over 13 years working in the mental health field, helping my clients change their lives in positive ways.

Those that I come alongside often say I provide warm, heartfelt support and professional guidance as they found hope and transformation through their struggles. Taking part in their journey as an expert guide, I have helped individuals navigate their way through depression, anxiety, relationship issues, lack of self-confidence, major life transitions, grief, and loss.

Refreshing to my clients, I have a unique and individualized approach to my counseling, while at the same time being highly educated and expertly trained in mental health. I make coping strategies simple and easy to apply in real life.

Cognitive-Behavioral, Person-Centered, Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed Care, and Strength-Based are just some of the theories that I draw from. I tailor my service in unique ways to support the specific needs of my clients while drawing from proven theoretical strategies.

During our sessions together, you can expect that we will sort through the challenges you are facing, choose the strategies that work the best while focusing on making the changes that matter the most to you. What's on your mind most and how may I support you is a theme of the service I provide.

I am confident of this: the life you want is already within your reach and the struggle that you are feeling right now is just temporary. You’ve already done the hardest part; you reached out and asked for help.

Now it's time for you to take the next best step.

Know I am here for you, as you begin this journey. Let’s take that next step, together.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Stacie Brethauer. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I have been working with Stacie for a couple months and she is amazing! Therapy in general has been life changing but Stacie is such a great therapist. Listens well, remembers things I have told her in the past. Sometimes it seems like I am just talking to a friend which I appreciate it, but then she is also able to provide very professional advice and insight. I never feel judged. Honestly I look forward to talking to her for our scheduled calls. Taking the leap and scheduling therapy is scary and intimidating. But I promise you won’t regret it.

Stacie was instrumental in helping me to move forward after a breakup from a long-term relationship. She is compassionate, understanding, and provided me with some valuable insights on the dynamic and how it related to my upbringing. I highly recommend Stacie.
