About Me

Congratulations on taking the first step toward a life change! It's not easy to ask for help and I applaud your decision to do something different in your life. I look forward to taking this journey with you.

I earned my Master's and Bachelor's Degrees in Counseling Psychology from Towson University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a Licensed Addictions Counselor. My experience and training have been in addictions counseling, community mental health with adults and teens, and in school counseling with children and teens. I started my career working in the school system as an addictions prevention counselor. I have worked in outpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential/inpatient levels of care throughout my career.

I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, and career challenges. I also help many people who have experienced addictions.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach is often called eclectic; I combine cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, gestalt and systems theory to tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

She is best at what she does.

I really enjoy working with Stacy! She understands my concerns and listens to everything I have to say before providing her opinion or strategies to handle the situation. She is flexible with scheduling and very responsive on the portal.

I couldn’t be more satisfied with the responsiveness and quality of consultation that I’ve received from Stacy Fruhling. The app is great. It allows so many ways to share information and Stacy is very quick at responding back. It’s powerful to know you’re not alone in dealing with tough issues. Stacy has encouraged me to journal which I have just started doing.

I have already recommended the service to several people. I might even add a second account for marriage counseling.

Stacy is one of the best people I have spoken to. I have a different therapist on here who wasn’t so great but changing to Stacy was the best choice I have ever mad. She’s amazing and makes it so personal to you

Written by K.A. on Apr 30, 2020 after counseling with Stacy for 1 year and 5 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, intimacy-related issues, self esteem, and career difficulties

I've been with Stacy for over a year, and she's amazing! I had gone through a couple therapists before her and learned what I needed and didn't need. I told Stacy, "ok, here's what I need from a counselor" and ever since then, she has been just that for me. Stacy is constructive, compassionate, professional, and calls me out when I need it - but also lets me feel everything I need to get through it. It can be really tough to find medical professionals that match your needs, but Stacy fits like a glove! Much love to all mental health professionals out there for keeping us above water, and to BetterHelp for making counseling affordable and simple!

I've only been talking to her for a little over a week now, but I already feel such a great deal of relief. It's like I have this tangled ball of yarn in my head that she's helping me untwist and rewind neatly, if that makes sense. She's wonderful and I feel that it's a great match.

Stacy is great! She helped me through a lot of issues that I was going through with anxiety/depression. In addition to helping me with personal issues, she really helped me to work on my own professional development. After working with Stacy, I'm in a much better place mentally, personally, and professionally. She is a great listener and offers a lot of helpful feedback/tips to help you work through your issues.

Written by S.A. on Mar 22, 2019 after counseling with Stacy for 4 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, grief, eating disorders, and self esteem

Stacy is the best therapist I've ever had. It can be tough looking for a therapist that understands everything that is going on inside your head. Stacy has shown not only compassion but skillfulness in handling just about anything I throw at her. I can say with absolute certainty I would not be as stable as I am now without her expertise and commitment.

I was skeptical about online counseling, but now I think I find it more beneficial to be able to message my therapist at what ever time of what ever day. I find it more helpful to be able to reach out and type what is on my mind at any given time.
