Stefanie Wasserman, LCSW
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 10 years of experience working in a New York City Hospital. I have experience providing care in emergency, inpatient and outpatient medical settings. My expertise is in working with clients and families adjusting to various acute and chronic medical illness, depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship issues, family conflict, grief, loss and end of life issues. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma including strokes, heart attacks, sexual assault and emotional abuse.
As a therapist, I use a humanistic, empathetic and interactive approach to help you navigate difficult feelings. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I also believe in the mind body connection. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, mindfulness and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I will alter our dialog and treatment plan to meet your individual needs.
Change is hard. It takes strength to ask for help and to work toward a fulfilling and happier life. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!
