About me
I offer counselling to help you to process and move forward from whatever you are struggling with now. My goal is to help clients identify, process and address concerns in a supportive and non judgemental approach. I enjoy helping other and feel honoured that my clients allow me to share in their journey to emotional, psychological wellness, growth and healing.
A little bit about me, I am qualified Counsellor with over 20 years experience of supporting adults and young people. My education along with my clinical practice equipped me with the necessary tools to effectively engage with clients. I have experience working with a wide range of clients with many life challenges.
I can offer therapy sessions, whatever issues you bring such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, loss & bereavement, low self-esteem & confidence, relationships, domestic abuse, sexual abuse and unhappiness with work, home or general unhappiness in a supportive environment offering compassion and kindness.
I support my clients who bring a broad range of issues by using gentle yet powerful techniques that help them discover healthy strategies for coping. I see counselling and therapeutic work as a collaborative process in which the client brings her or his experiences in both a conscious and an unconscious way and I bring my awareness, my experience and my respectful curiosity.
I am a person centred therapist and I use broadly humanistic, integrative approach developed principally from these sources, EMDR, Emotional Focus Therapy (EFT), Somatic Therapy Gestalt, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
EMDR therapy is a mental health treatment method that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. Developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR is primarily used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) but has also been found effective for various other conditions, including anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.
Gestalt Therapy is an experiential therapy and centres on the individual’s experience in the here and now, the relationship between the therapist and client, the circumstances in which these things take place, and the adjustments people make as a result of the situation. Gestalt Therapy is holistic and emphasises personal responsibility.
Mindfulness is an approach to help clients reconnect with themselves and the world around them. Practices will help clients to manage conditions such as anxiety. Through noticing thoughts and allowing them to understand how unhelpful thoughts such as worrying can increase their anxiety. Becoming more self aware and noticing the difficulties in life but also allowing themselves to focus on the good things that might be happening in their life no matter how small they might be.
CBT is a structured approach which aims to get to the bottom of problems relating to dysfunctional emotions, behaviours and thoughts. This is achieved through the exploration of negative thoughts with a client followed by more goal-oriented sessions in which clients are taught techniques which they can then apply to everyday life.
Taking the first step to sign up to therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for taking this step.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Stephanie Boosey. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I haven’t been with her for very long, but my experience so far has been genuinely great. She listens carefully and provides the kind of support I actually need. She’s calm, understanding, and creates a space where I feel comfortable opening up and sharing honestly.
I’ve worked with many therapists over time, and she’s the first one who truly seems to get through to me. She’s kind, genuine, and consistently checks up on me, which is something I’ve never experienced with any therapist before. I’m really grateful to have found someone who makes me feel heard, supported, and understood.
