Stephanie Collins

About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working in mental health for about 5 years. I am certified in Trauma Counseling and as a Grief Support Specialist. I have experience helping people with a variety of conditions, including depression, anxiety, grief, and other trauma-related issues. I practice from a client-centered approach, meaning that I believe YOU are the expert about yourself, and I believe we can work best together as a team. I am skilled in cognitive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness techniques, and providing resources/referrals. I am trained in trauma-reprocessing therapies. I have included animal-assisted therapy in my previous work. I approach people with a non-judgmental attitude and a curiosity that creates a space where they can feel comfortable with me.

It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help and I am very glad you did! I think it is important for you to be involved in decisions regarding your treatment, and it is important to set goals that are realistic and relevant to you. I believe my role is to help you by providing resources and guidance. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you find ways to live your best life now!

I've had incredible improvements through my counseling with Stephanie Collins, I've never felt more grateful; I began counseling with Stephanie in the New Year, it took 3 months or so for improvements to actually show - I couldn't be happier, however I'm going to have to cancel & I don't want to despite financial reasons. I'll most definitely return for a follow up, but it'll have to be sometime in the fall; Stephanie is an incredible counselor, I couldn't be happier & I don't want to stop - but I must, I hope to get Stephanie again when I return.

I have struggled for some time with counselling as I don't like burdening people with my problems. Somehow my counselor Stephanie Collins made me feel at ease straight away, and reassured me that I was not wasting her time. She thanks me for sharing details with her and is very patient when it takes me a while or I find it difficult to talk about something . Somehow I found I immediately trusted her. She is very knowledgeable and helpful and I highly highly recommend.
