I am a licensed therapist in North Carolina. I use a client-centered approach, meaning that the client sets the focus and pacing of our sessions. I am specifically trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I describe CBT as helping clients incrementally change their behavior. My clients have previously described this approach as empathetic and respectful.
The foundation of the client / counselor relationship is unconditional positive regard. This concept means that every client deserves compassion and understanding. Anything that is told to me during a session is privileged communication – it is protected by the law, and I am ethically bound not to share this information. I take this aspect of my practice very seriously.
My MA is in Clinical Mental Health from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I completed my MBA from Queens University and have an undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College. When I am not working as a therapist, I enjoy spending time with animals. My sessions sometimes include snoring dogs in the background.

Stephanie has been great and it saddens me that she is going.

Stephanie has been a great support as I navigated a series of changes over the past year. She frequently drew my attention to strengths I had not acknowledged in myself and gave kind, candid feedback when I asked for it. She does a great job of balancing my goals and directing the conversation to topics I may not have realized I needed to address in order to reach them. Thanks for all your help!

I’ve been in therapy for nearly seventeen years and haven’t come across anyone as genuine and insightful as Stephanie. I feel that i’ve made tremendous progress since working with her and I am incredibly thankful for everything she does.

Stephanie and I have been working together for about 3 months now and I feel she’s helped me a great deal. She offers insightful guidance and probing questions to help me confront my struggles. As with any counsellor, it can take a while to feel comfortable opening up emotionally, because Stephanie is so personable, it was very easy and didn’t take long. I did have reservations about online therapy, however, I have had my expectations exceeded with Steph and I can’t recommend her enough.

Stephanie’s style and approach to counseling fits my needs 100 percent. I feel very validated, understood, and heard every session. She genuinely listens to what you’re saying and takes her time to respond appropriately. Which I appreciate so much. She’s not just there to tell you to meditate and do some breathing techniques while envisioning a calming tree, ya know? Stephanie is down to earth, realistic, and genuinely cares. I love working with her.

I have greatly appreciated my time with Stephanie. She asks the right questions and helps contextualize what I am going through in a way that is very compassionate and non-judgemental. Stephanie knows how to challenge negative thought patterns which helps me catch them when they happen outside of our sessions. Our sessions have proven very beneficial and I value our client/counselor relationship immensely.

Stephanie has been a fantastic help. Supportive, understanding, compassionate and positive. She blends a listening ear with a proactive practical approach and is happy to challenge when necessary rather than just be a passive presence. I started the work with her with slight scepticism having not quite found the right support previously, but that scepticism was very quickly discarded, and overall I have found the experience of working with Stephanie an extremely positive and empowering one, and I feel more confident than I did at the start of the process that my challenges are not only addressable, but actually an opportunity for greater happiness. Even in a relatively short time working together, I’d say the positive impact has already been tangible and measurable in my daily life.

Stephanie has become a crucial source of support in my life. I feel that I can be completely honest and open with her about how I’m feeling and she always provides great feedback and summarized what I’m going through back to me. She listens and takes notes and really puts a lot of effort into our sessions. I really trust her and look forward to our sessions, even when i know they will be hard. She helps put everything in perspective and ensures that the focus stays on me and my needs and goals. She’s very empowering.

Stephanie is amazing and the best therapist I've ever had. It doesn't matter whether I'm moaning about something, going off on one or feeling completely lost, she's always there to listen and give advice and I always feel so much better and have a more positive outlook on life after our sessions.

Very informative. I'm an individual who's neurotic in nature so I second guess a lot of my own ideas and thoughts, and she recognizes this. She's also open-minded to have conversations about upbringing, familial relationships, career, and young adulthood.
