About me

Let me take a second to introduce myself. I received my bachelors in psychology at Western Carolina University and then attended Walden University to obtain my masters in clinical mental
health counseling. My therapeutic approach is Holistic and Person Centered, as I believe that you are expert on your life, and you are inherently driven toward growth and self-actualization. My role as a
therapist, is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, empathic, and welcoming space for you, regardless of your sex, age, race, culture, religious beliefs, or disability. I was trained to help you
figure out what is best for you, rather than giving direct advice or telling you what to do, however, I will be there to guide you along the way. We will work collaboratively to identify
skills that are beneficial for you during challenging times. This approach will support growth in self-esteem, confidence, and the ability to regulate your emotions.
During our sessions, we will discuss issues that you would like to work on or challenges you might be facing in life. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR),
and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These three therapeutic approaches help alleviate the challenges that come with trauma, PTSD, and personality disorders. The skills learned through DBT also assist with anxiety and depression. I will have you challenge negative thoughts and look at other ways to view issues or situations and learn to utilize healthy coping skills. I also
like to incorporate mindfulness skills, such as guided meditations, worksheets, practice, and suggested reading. We can discuss therapeutic options that you are interested in when we meet. I am excited for you to reach out for support and I look forward to working with you to help you reach your therapeutic goals!

I am proud of you for starting!

Stephanie has been so supportive and really helped me dig myself out of the mental and emotional hole I had been in. She's really validated my feelings, and armed me with the tools to process them and turn them around.
