Stephen Sutton, LCMHC
About me
I am licensed in North Carolina with 21 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, depression, & coping with life changes. The type of therapy methods I may use with clients are diverse, but I most frequently use Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness/Heartfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy, which can encourage elements of independence, honesty, acceptance and direction to the therapy process. The process of therapy also includes building a healthy therapeutic relationship of trust between myself and my clients and ultimately helping clients to develop or increase trust in themselves. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Stephen is awesome. Wise, calm and understanding man that listens closely before responding. Helps me to almost see things for myself sometimes as I’m saying it. Then helps me to reflect on things I’m not seeing. As a stubborn middle age man. Sometimes it’s difficult to open up and he makes it much easier for someone with my mindset.

Stephen has been a great help. I was not excited about therapy before and did not have a good connection with my past therapist. Stephen has been very supportive and I am grateful for his help

Stephen has helped me become a new person. Before I had no confidence , thought the world was above me and I always had something to prove. He helped me realize my strengths and fix my weaknesses. Was my first time taking therapy with him and I’m definitely a believer. Thank you Stephen.
