My name is Steve Lewis and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Douglas Wyoming. I have over 14 years of experience at the Masters level.
My first job out of the master's program was with an agency that had an evidence based parenting program. I currently use that program even to this day. I have seen tremendous changes in how parents parent their children after going through this program.
I work with people ages 0 - 100 for any issue they may present.
I got into this field because I believe that all people can change if they want to and I want to be part of that process and hope for that change.
My approach in working with clients is similar to performing surgery. That means I get to the heart of the issue so that the issue is no longer there and you can experience peace and contentment. My therapeutic approach is solution-focused. People do not want to be in their struggle any longer than they have to. So I go directly to the issue and present options to overcome that issue. I also have a integrative approach which uses all the therapy styles. I believe we are all different and one approach may work on others but it may not work for you. My tool box is full and ready to be given to you. Over the years I have developed numerous concepts that I have helped hundreds of people and I would like to share them with you. Clients have indicated time after time how my concepts have changed their lives. Could they change yours?
I started my own private practice named New Beginnings Counseling. I named it that because I want people not to be stuck from their past or current situation but for them to have a new beginning. To start your new beginning, contact me. Allow me to be part of your story as you find and start your new beginning.

I typed in what my problems were and was given options based on what I was looking for. Steve's profile described his ability to fix the root of the problem. I have been talking to Steve for 2 years now and it is true. He has helped me with the root of my problem. I feel much more at peace and have more tools in my tool kit to handle situations that I was unable to handle before. He is lovely person and I in general just enjoy talking to him. Therapy doesn't have to be crying your eyes out every single time. It can positive interactions from someone gently guiding you to the right path. I appreciate him so much.
He knows how to deal with my awkward silences when I don't know what to say and hes just all around a cool dude.
He helped me a lot so far.
I find Steve has made me think with a new perspective and has made me look at things from a different way that what I would have before speaking to him.
I would highly recommend Steve Lewis as he is so easy to talk to and a great listener and completely non judgmental. He offers exceptionally good advice and has been extremely helpful to me.
Steve, is a great councilor. He listened deeply to the issue, analyzed the main nodes, got me to ask myself the right questions, and he didn't make me feel that I'm being directed. I got the answers from within.
I will come back to him as I trust him.
Steve is a very sweet counselor. He listens to me and acknowledges my feelings, makes me feel validated about things I feel can sound silly sometimes. He’s of great help! I appreciate him a lot and am thankful for his help.
Steve is a great listener and a great counselor. He is caring and always keep a smile on. I highly recommend him to anyone, he did help a lot!
I was super nervous at first about this whole experience but Steve has made it a very easy process. He makes sure that you are comfortable with your sessions. He also doesn't push you into talking about something you are not ready to you yet.
Great lister and asked me great questions that helped me redirect my focus.
