My approach to my clients is very focused on finding solutions based on the issues they bring to therapy. In my 43 years of experience I have dealt with depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, grief and loss. I have worked with many individuals who have been traumatized at all stages of life. I believe in the use of positive, client centered therapy which empowers people to recognize their strengths and abilities to reach their goals. I am also capable of working with persons who have lost their spiritual direction and feel they have lost their connection with their Christian values. I have recently worked for 4 years with people with neurodevelopmental disorders such as those on the Autism Spectrum and with severe intellectual disabilities. I believe that everyone can learn and grow no matter what they are dealing with!

Steven was a great therapist as he was able to listen and provide helpful examples of how to resolve your situation. He was thoughtful, perceptive, and a really good listener who has experience in the field.
Steven Paro has been one of the most helpful and genuine councelers I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He has helped me through so many different issues and he is always there with endless support and care. I could not recommend him enough
Steven is a true gift to my life and I have gently and compassionately been counselled by him while walking through some tough situations that have been very challenging. The counselling journey with Steven has unveiled some serious issues and traumas which have been restored through Steven’s expertise and deep compassion for people. I feel safe, heard and hopeful for my future. I thank God for this opportunity to grow and heal into a stronger and happier version of myself.
He is wonderful . Excellent at listening and providing healthy coping skills. Great experience
I appreciate Steven's care and concern for my complicated issues. I appreciate his willingness to let me be open and honest with him no matter how uncomfortable that is. I appreciate his non-judgmental response to me confessing everything to him, so that I feel safe and have no reason not to be open and honest with him.

I appreciate his feedback and his personal experience. I enjoy the book he recommended for me for Codependency and how it relates to me personally. He responds quickly when needed and has walked me through lots of scenarios that I have experienced.
