Welcome to the safety and acceptance of my counseling space. I bring over sixteen years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Mental Health Service Provider. I also bring experience as a training supervisor of those aspiring to be counselors. As a provider who has also sat in the client’s chair in therapy, I bring an understanding of the importance of trust in this very special relationship, which for me, is founded in the belief of dignity and respect for all. Over the years I have studied my craft extensively, and I have honed my counseling skills in concentrated work in education and with psychiatrists, mentors, and other counselors. Yet, it is my work with my clients that has given me the greatest understanding of my purpose as a counseling professional and my place as a support for those clients as they address issues and work to find meaning in the journey. My skills are best employed in individual counseling, where I employ Compassion Focused Therapy.

Sue is always responsive and timely. She pays attention during every session and remembers details about our sessions. She brings up topics during sessions that I may not have thought about but it always becomes helpful in the end. I would recommend her to anyone.

In 2 words, I feel strongly that Sue is a Personable Professional - her empathic character is balanced with her effective manner of counsel. I respond well to Sue's ways - of mirroring assurance and modeling competence naturally.

Not your typical therapist, and that's a GOOD thing. Sue eschews the trope of the stuffy, tight-lipped therapist looking down at you over their glasses in order to get right to the heart of the matter, the part that matters most: the state of the individual, whatever that state may be. Couldn't recommend her more.

I’ve been working with Sue for a while now. When starting therapy, I had a lot of trouble with feeling like my trauma and feelings surrounding it weren’t valid. Sue validated those feelings and has provided empathy in areas where I desperately needed it. It’s been such a relief just to have my feelings validated and be comforted.

Sue is incredibly welcoming. Her approach is inviting and non-judgemental, while still asking good questions rather than waiting for you to start the conversation. She is knowledgeable and knows how to direct you to appropriate resources to continue improving your mental health. She is not overly conservative, which is important to me because acceptance of all people is vital. I am so happy I met Sue through BetterHelp. I have seen a huge difference in my life and mental health since starting sessions with her.

So far I have had two sessions with Sue Frazier-Bear, and both have been excellent! She is very kind and thoughtful. She has totally understood everything I have said so far, and has even been able to say things in a way that better describe my own feelings than I could initially. She also has given me some wonderful advice on how to handle the issues I have been facing. Some of the things things she has told me to do are things no one else has ever suggested to me, and have so far been very helpful! I look forward to more sessions with her, and I see myself being able to much better manage stress and mental health issues thanks to her.
