About Me
Hi and thank you so much for considering working with me as your counselor. I have been a licensed clinical social worker since 1988, and became independently licensed in 1999. I have a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work.
I work with a client-centered approach, listening carefully to what you as the client need and what you already know works best for you. I have spent seven years in private practice as a psychotherapist, and I have worked in community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, and in veterans' services. I work well with both men and women and I have provided couples' and family therapy.
I have worked extensively with people who have survived sexual and physical abuse and with individuals dealing with a wide range of traumatic experiences, including military-related trauma. I have also worked extensively with women who have experienced domestic violence and who are trying to cope with the stressors they experience at different stages of their lives. I have a special interest in infertility and helping individuals and couples work through the emotional extremes that can be a part of the experience of infertility. I have worked with older adults who are confronting issues relating to aging.
My experience has been that no one approach works for everyone, and clients may need to work with different approaches to therapy at different times. Flexibility in psychotherapy approaches helps me meet the real-time, real-life needs of each individual. I have received extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and will use that form of therapy when it meets the needs of the individual.
I have helped individuals deal with depression, anxiety, difficult life choices, and relationship problems. I offer a safe space to be yourself, with acceptance, warmth, and the absence of judgement. I hope I can be of help to you and I look forward to getting to know you.

I’m very grateful for Susan’s help. She’s very kind, patient and understanding.
10/10
Susan is very helpful when speaking to her. She is very calming and really tries to make you think about what you are doing and how it's affecting you.
I have been with Susan for a few months now seeing her once a week. Susan has been very helpful and supportive. She is very understanding of the my experiences and helps give me tools on dealing with what I have been through and what I am currently dealing with. It has really helped between sessions to be able to message, which Susan responds quickly and in a timely manner.
Susan is a true professional with a kind heart. She allows space for me to be vulnerable and offers many resources for me to refer to outside of our video sessions, which I appreciate. I’ve made huge strides in moving through my emotions and deeply appreciate Susan’s role in this.
Susan has helped me in the short amount of time that I've been seeing her. I never thought therapy would work for me, but she gives me hope that I can do it and become the person I want to be.
I feel that Susan is very good at responding thoughtfully when I messaging her throughout the week. She makes me feel heard and valued.
Susan has been wonderful. She really understands that there are many layers to my emotional world and is able to help me feel comfortable talking about my emotions.
I am so glad that I was paired with Susan. Her approach is just wonderful! I look forward to our conversations no matter the method and highly value her insight and suggestions.
