About me
I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 11 years, with experience conducting individual and group therapy. I work with clients who are dealing with a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, addiction, abuse, relationship issues, adjustment issues, grief and loss, and compassion fatigue .
I use a person centered approach when in a therapeutic relationship with clients. This means I make a consistent effort to meet each client "where they are" as they progress through the process of self exploration. I use evidence based modalities that include Cognitive Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Narrative Therapy as well as Psychoeducation.
I approach my sessions as a team, addressing challenges together, as the client is the expert of his/her story. I create a space where we can work on resolving issues and where we can collaborate on treatment plans that are tailored to each client's personal needs and experiences.
When working with clients I strive to make the therapy experience genuine, positive, respectful and safe. Through a humanistic approach I assist clients in creating and meeting their goals, to address difficult life issues and challenges, and to regain a new perspective on life.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Susan Sullivan. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Susan really is the type of therapy I have been looking. She listens to my concerns and gives me actionable advise that I can apply to help me change my mindset and behavior. I've never had a therapist get me from the first session.
Great listener, respectful, and a great support system!
Love it
Susan truly knows how to connect and help people. She is a wonderful therapist and I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Once we started listening to each other we had really good sessions. Susan started the conversation off with text book answers and I got a little defensive. Again, once we got beyond our bumpy start its been great conversations and insightful suggestions.
Susan is a great therapist She is the best. I love her ,She i s the best.!!!
Insightful. Offers support and appropriately challenges thoughts and behaviors that interfere with goals. Encourages growth without being demanding or judgmental.
Susan is an excellent match for me! She "gets" my quirky viewpoints about life, and is very supportive of them. This is rare.
I have found Susan to be so, so helpful in my journey!!
She is an excellent listener, she has wonderful resources and she’s consistently encouraging me to see myself in a successful and positive light. I could not be happier that I found her.

Susan has been such an important part of my healing process. She has accepted me since day 1 and has been one of my biggest cheerleaders! Her expertise shines through during each session and I always leave with a new tool or goal for myself. She is a special woman!!!
Susan has been helping me a lot so far, with understanding myself more, while listening very carefully. She takes my goals into account and gives me very helpful practice exercises that I have incorporated in my daily life. I have been growing faster and more confidently since seeing her.
Susan helped me through an incredibly difficult time when I felt like no one else could. From multiple therapists, to family and friends, I felt lost and like no one could give me any real guidance. Susan gave me the tools I needed to aid in my grief but also the space and permission to feel my feelings. I am forever grateful.
I went through a few therapists and was about to give up on BetterHelp but I decided to messaged one last therapist, Susan. I am very glad that I did. It was not that the other therapists were mean or bad, I simply did not feel connected to them. Susan really understands my issues. She listens so well and offers me solid input, advice, and tools I can use moving forward. She has helped me make big, necessary changes in my life. She has been a support system that I did not know I would lean on so heavily. She checks in on me throughout the week. She goes above and beyond to find other resources for me in my local area. I have found a gem of a therapist and I almost don't want to share, but honestly, I cannot recommend Susan enough.
