I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts with 3 years of direct psychotherapy experience working with children, adolescents, and families. In addition, I have over 10 years experience mentoring youth and families and over 4 years as a life coach for women struggling with health and weight issues. I have worked with individuals with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, discipline strategies, OCD and Panic Disorder. I also worked with many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
My counseling style is warm, interactive, and goal oriented. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, solution focused, psychodynamic, and rational-emotive counseling. I also have experience with DBT (Dialect Behavioral Therapy) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Suzanne is a great therapist who truly listened to me and helped me work through issues of self esteem, my relationship with food, and stress and anxiety in my life. She is very much a therapist that gives you homework and ideas to work on. With different providers in the past, I felt like I had sessions but no concrete ways to work on my issues, but working with Suzanne has been really positive, gives me exercises and ideas to work on, and I recommend her!
Therapy should be a safe place to express and build upon who you are. Suzanne Kane creates that environment, and helps you move forward in life. She is attentive with a calming personality. With her, you are in good hands.
