I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York with over 10 years of experience working as a Social Worker, psychotherapist, Social work supervisor, and life coach. I have worked in several different settings including foster care, a group residence, a domestic violence shelter, schools, an assisted living home, outpatient mental health clinics as well as private practice. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns and personal goals. I enjoy being able to work with people who are desiring to identify their purpose, build their self esteem and confidence, and learn more about themselves throughout the process.
My counseling style is eclectic, engaging and interactive. I believe that every person deserves to have someone that they can talk to, gain insight from and connect with that will not interfere with their daily living. Family and friends are great supports and often times will provide what they think we want them to provide and not what we really want or what really need. I like to create personal and professional goals with individuals based on their interests, opinions, and skills not based on other people's opinions of them. I often will use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy with a humanistic and solution focused approach.
Everyone benefits from being able to have a coach, a therapist, someone on their side. I would love to be able to work with you and assist you in being the best version of yourself.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Suzanne Knapp. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Suzanne is really accommodating to my schedule, she’s helped me tremendously working through my past trauma, alcohol addictions and mental ailments
A great therapist and is perfect for tailored approaches to therapy
Suzanne is great! Give support and what I need. Getting me through some very difficult times and situations
Suzanne is a great therapist and really listens to how I am feeling. She has helped guide me towards growth in my relationships and as an individual. She provides meaningful discussion and useful practices for coping with anxiety.
Suzanne is very attentive and respectful. she responds very quickly, and is always ready with numerous resources. She’s very encouraging, but holds me accountable.
Suzanne is by far the most helpful and insightful therapist I have ever had. I appreciate her responsiveness to messages and journal entries I leave for her. She always has great tips to share with me and I look forward to continuing my mental health journey with her!
I am still in early stages with Suzanne but I appreciate her greatly. She listens and has a calming tone and manner. Thank you Suzanne
The best therapist
Suzanne is extremely understanding and knowledgeable. She truly listens to me and helps get to the root of my thoughts; and then provides me with additional resources to learn from and continue advancing my thought process. I would definitely recommend her to anyone struggling with anxiety, self esteem, or familial issues.
I had tried therapy a few times before signing up for BetterHelp and never liked the experience. The conversations felt forced and awkward. My experience with Suzanne could not have been more different. From the get go she made me feel so comfortable and safe to talk about whatever I wanted. Any time I was upset I felt the empathy coming out of the screen! She really felt for me and listened keenly. Not only was she a good ear but she also regularly reminded me of my therapy goals so I wasn’t just using the our time to vent. She has a great deal of experience and professional certifications which made me trust her even more. She helped me come up with mantras to be kinder to myself and challenged me to name my feelings and thoughts and make sense of my habits and patterns. I had to end therapy because I quit my job to go travel and don’t have steady income. If and when I’m back at a stable job I’ll be sure to connect with Suzanne again. I could not recommend her more !
Wonderful individual. Shows concern, adds feedback and helps with making better choices.
Suzanne is an amazing counselor and human, she is so accepting and doesn't make you feel like you have a personal issue, she is so committed to finding out about who you are and whats important to you, and really implements a strategy that will work for you if you are willing. I can't say enough positive things about her and I hope she will help change your life for the better like she did mine.
Suzanne has been a great help and is always there with guidance. I sometimes forgot to respond and she is always still checking in on me regardless of my absence. Suzanne also adapts quickly when I have a new problem or want guidance on something else.
I think Suzanne is wonderful. I've had other therapists before and I feel like she's much more engaging, listens and delves into topics that we touch on at that moment. Our sessions go very fast because it's enjoyable to speak with her. I think she's helping me a lot with the things I'm going through and I truly appreciate it.
Suzanne listens and is knowledgeable and also meets me where I am. Does so well.
