Tammy Smallwood, LCSW
About me
I'm a licensed therapist in Kentucky with extensive experience supporting individuals through life's most challenging moments. I work with clients across the lifespan, specializing in depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, and trauma recovery.
My approach is grounded in compassion and practical skill-building. I help clients navigate communication patterns, isolation, social anxiety, guilt, and shame. I'm particularly experienced in supporting survivors of trauma, abuse, and domestic violence, as well as those working through attachment concerns and family conflicts.
I also specialize in supporting women through postpartum depression, seasonal mood changes, midlife transitions, and young adult challenges. I work with clients managing co-occurring concerns, including substance use, self-harm, and mood dysregulation. Additionally, I support caregivers managing stress and those navigating adoption, foster care, and family-of-origin healing.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, honest, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I create a nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and respected for who you are. I believe in meeting you where you are and working together toward meaningful, sustainable change.
Taking that first step toward therapy takes courage, and I'm honored to support you on your journey.
